UV Gel: A Step By Step Application Guide
You Should Be For UV Gel Sets
Do you like the beautiful look of natural nails?Do you think yellowing acrylic nails are below your standards of beauty? Do you wish that the maintenance of natural nails wasn't so constant and difficult. If you wish that your natural looking nails were durable and easier to maintain without sacrificing their elegant beauty, then you must get yourself a set of uv gel nails. UV gel nails are a type of artificial or fake nails, but they don't seem to have the same stigma that bad acrylics get (yellowing, very fake looking, injurious to the nail bed, noxious fumes, etc. etc.).Gels may not stay on as long as acrylics, and they may need maintainance a bit more often, but they do far better than natural nails alone, and their high gloss and natural beauty are un-matched. Gel nails can also be reinforced with fiberglass or kept short if you are worried about how you treat your poor nails now. Gel nails come in a variety of brands, styles and types and there are a few important distinctions to note. The most important item of note is that there are two variety of UV gel nails, the first are almost irremovable, and they are your standard uv gel nails, the second type are still difficult to remove, but they do not require you to grow them completely out.If you are going to try out uv gels for the first time, or you are scared of commitment (Your Mother Would Love Him!) then you will want to go with "Soak Off" UV Gels, ask your nail tech, she knows best.Otherwise, you can just get started and start enjoying your nails more than you have in a long time. If you are a nail tech looking for a bit of extra information, or just a nail buff who wants to know what she is really getting in to, then you should really enjoy this uv gel application guide below:
Now, How To Work With UV Gel Tips
- Step 1 Buff or file the top of your nails to remove any natural shine and oils you have. Apply a coat of primer and allow it to dry all the way.
- Step 2 Brush a thin coat of uv gel on to the nail. Use the same motion you would if you were applying polish, brushing from your cuticle to the free edge of your nail.
- Step 3 Put your fingers under the lamp for a duration of about 2-3 minutes or until the uv gel has dryed.
- Step 4 Add a second coat of nail gel to your nails. You want to apply a bead of gel to your nail and slowly spread or float it around over your whole nail being careful to keep it from touching the skin. Once again, place your nails beneath the light and allow them to dry.
- Step 5 Repeat step 4 making sure to fill in any ridges that may have formed and smooth out the shape of the nail. Take your time with this step.Put your fingers close to the uv lamp for their final hardening.
- Step 6 File your nails with a nail drill or buffer to attain the shape you want.
Now it is time to enjoy your new (or your client's new) uv gel nails. Make sure to stay curious, be careful, and always have fun when working with your gel uv!
